Raquette to Blue Mountain Lake day trip Part of optional Eighth Lake camp trip

This is a stand alone one day trip being done in conjunction with the optional Eighth Lake Base Camping Trip, the second of four day trips in this area. This willl be a one way through trip requiringng a shuttle between Blue Mountainn Lake and Raquette Lake, we willl meet at Blue Mountain Lake to move cars and will start from Raquette Lake, the same starting pointing scheduled for 9/21, only this time heading East. The plan is initially to heads North across Raquette Lake, skirt to the west of Tioga Point and head East to the Marion River. From the Marion we will get to and cross Utowana Lake and Eagle Lake before entering Blue Mountain Lake. Total distance as a straight trip will be just short of 14 miles without taking time to explore. The end point is aboutut 30 minutes from Eighth Lake campground.

Difficulty: Intermediate, this is all flat water with no carries, but it willl be a long day, bring lunch to eat on the way.

Safety: PFDs are required to be worn at all times, a whistle and white lightt are also required. This willl be the beginning of fall so watch the forecast and dress appropriately.
