Day Trip on the Kunjamuk, this is a real gem of a river. Wild, remote and picturesque. I love this trip for its remoteness, it gives the trip a real wilderness feel. Not without challenges though, there will be blow down and beaver dams, be prepared to get wet. Water level may also be a challenge. Also, this is a long trip even without blowdown and beaver dams, I’m starting this trip an hour earlier than normal (please be off loaded and ready to go at the start time) expect to spend a full day on the water. Bring a lunch and a chair if you’d like, I plan to stop to eat en-route at a sand bar along the way.

If time permits when we are finished I would like to do a short 1ish mile hike to nearby Auger falls, everyone who attends is invited to join me.

Difficulty: Hard, this is a long trip up river that can stretch over 15 miles. Beaver dams blow down and low water levels will be an issue. Bring a light boat you don’t care that gets dings or scratches if you have one.

Safety: Always wear a securely fastened PFD, a whistle and white light are also required. This is in summer, and we will be working hard, bring plenty of water. Bug spray and sun block is appropriate.
