Columbus Weekend (3 days) at the Adirondack Loj

Details
Join us for our annual Columbus weekend outing featuring 3 days of hiking and other activities in the Adirondack Mountains. Peak Fall colors should complement the spectacular scenery for some amazing hiking.
NOTE: Deadline for registration is extended to September 22.
We'll be staying at ADK's famous Adirondack Loj (Loj = Lodge; they aren't famous for spelling). From the Loj you can directly access over a dozen Adirondack High peaks and a number of easier smaller peaks and hiking destinations without needing to drive to a trailhead. The ADK also has canoes and kayaks if you are interested in a paddle on adjacent Heart Lake. Nearby are additional hiking destinations, the new Adirondack Rail Trail, cultural, scenic, and adventure activities, as well as the village of Lake Placid. We will be publishing a schedule of guided hikes/activities or you can make your own itinerary, but you won’t want to miss the onsite social time.

The Loj beds are very reasonably priced (especially for a holiday weekend) and include a full breakfast each of the 3 mornings. The ADK member rate including all 3 days is $250 in a bunk room and $220 in the loft.
The loft is my personal favorite and I’ll be staying there, although the bunkrooms may be ideal for family groups.
The lodging costs are for current members of the ADK (any chapter). If you are not yet a member you can join the ADK now and attend this outing; those details are also available at the above link.
Included is a group happy hour on Saturday evening. We are hoping to also arrange a family style dinner Saturday night at the Loj, or you might prefer to sample one of the many restaurants, pubs and breweries in the Lake Placid area.
Please register by September 22 as the lodging will not be available after that date.
If you are not an ADK member and wish to attend this outing, you can do so by joining the ADK (details at the link above). The annual membership is $50 for an individual and $70 for a family. Year-round benefits of membership include the following:
1. A subscription to Adirondac, ADK’s quarterly magazine, which provides news and views on organization activities, conservation updates, and outdoor recreation features
2. Discounts
- 50% off hiker parking at the Heart Lake Program Center
- 20% off all ADK guidebooks, maps, calendars, and other ADK publications
- 10% off outdoor education and skill-building programs
- 10% off ADK logo merchandise
- 10% off lodging at the Heart Lake Program Center and Johns Brook Property
