Adoption and Suicidality: An Important Conversation

A SPECIAL ONLINE EVENT
AKA welcomes 4 of the contributors to the 2024 book "Adoption and Suicidality" for a educational and empowering conversation. This panel includes:
Tony Hynes---an adopted person, adoption professional at CASE, poet, and author who speaks about the power of connectedness in combating social isolation for adopted persons, and his experiences with depression and suicidal ideation.
Dr. Joyce Maguire Pavao---an adopted person, activist, and legendary therapist with much experience helping other adopted people struggling with suicidality.
Laura Engel---a first/birth mother and author whose reunited adult son died by suicide
Beth (Syverson) Mason---an adoptive mother whose adopted young adult son has struggled with chronic suicidality.

ALL are invited! Listen, learn, and discuss the complex truths of adoption. This conversation is imperative for those impacted by adoption, as well as healthcare service providers, clergy, educators, and therapists.
This event is free for AKA members, $15 for all others. ( If cost is a barrier, please just email aka@adoptionknowledge.org and request a scholarship. We never want anyone denied access to important information and community )
