What we’re about
This Meetup group is for adoptive parents, foster parents, and prospective adoptive & foster parents. This is designed with the traditional AKA model of peer-to-peer support, but in a more relaxed, informal setting. Parenting is hard. Parenting through foster care and adoption presents additional, unique challenges and opportunities for growth. Come feel supported by, and offer support to others parenting through foster care and adoption.
*AKA is a proponent of ethical and open adoption practices, empowering all three sides of the adoption triad before, during, and after the adoption process. We recognize that adoption is not a one time event, but a lifelong journey. We also support adult adoptees in their right to full access to their identity information.
