This ia a great opportunity to photograph the Adirondacks. Cobble Lookout is located in the Wilmington Wild Forest near Whiteface Mountain. It is an easy 2.6 mile round trip hike and features spectacular views of Whiteface Mountain, Giant Mountain and the Champlain Valley. The trail was built in 2014 and is mostly level (elevation gain of about 140 feet). It is also known as Cobble Ledge in the latest edition of the ADK Guidebook "High Peak Trails". Bring snowshoes and microspikes. This ledge also overlooks the North Pole & maybe, just maybe, one can hope ! If you have a long lens....bring it..just in case ! Meet at Exit 18 Park & Ride at 8:50 for a 9:00 am departure to carpool to the trailhead or at 10:30 at the trailhead.
