Baker Trail to Moreau Overlook Photo Hike

The Baker Trail to Old Moreau Overlook Trail offers a scenic 2.4-mile out-and-back hike through the Palmertown Range in Moreau Lake State Park. Starting at a lesser-known trailhead off Spier Falls Road, the trail ascends gradually, passing through beautiful fern-covered clearings and forested terrain.
Link to map : Parking is at # 28 on map. Parking is available at the trailhead off Spier Falls Road. Look for a state park sign marking the entrance to a gravel road leading to a small parking area.

To hike to the Moreau Lake Overlook using the Baker Trail, drive west on Spier Falls Road in Gansevoort. Look for a nondescript gravel road and State Park sign on the left (approx. 43.202ºN, 73.896ºW). Park in the small lot.
