Beckbury, Badger Dingle, Evening walk plus tunnel around 6 1/2 miles.
Details
This walk is a favourite one of mine. It is a delightful mix of farmland, woods, pretty villages and the beautiful Badger Dingle with it's pools and waterfall. We will make a detour to have a look and walk through a 15metre long tunnel which was dug out of sandstone. We will see a summerhouse/rotunda. There might be muddy surfaces especially after rainfall, so walking boots or similar sturdy footwear is recommended. There are no more than two stiles to climb over.
A walking pole might come in handy in a few places. A good torch is recommended for this walk.
There maybe horses in one of the fields. There are slopes to walk up and down and one steep slope about 200metres to walk up.
We will be combining this walk with Pathfinders.
Note: All dogs will have to be on a short lead at all times this is for the safety and comfort of everyone. We have permission to park in the Smokey Cow pub car park Beckbury. There might be a few of us going for a drink in the Smokey Cow pub afterwards.
