Art Unbound is an inclusive art initiative for adults with developmental disabilities. It provides accessible creative opportunities using guided, free-style sessions and a variety of materials.

Participants build foundational skills through creativity-focused sessions using fine art materials (painting, drawing, paper sculpting and more). The heart of the program is organic creation, using fine arts materials and recycled items to design original pieces with a focus on exploration and autonomy. Caregivers are present but can step back as participants take ownership of their creative process, balancing support with genuine independence.

Art Unbound is an extension of the program Arts for All. Arts for All is an ongoing program created under Jewell Tone Center for the Arts. Through our work, we discovered almost no arts programming for people with disabilities in our immediate community. To date this program has been provided on an all-volunteer basis in partnership with The Arc of Northern Virginia. For more information visit our website at www.jtcfta.org.
