Come join us for a MLK morning hike.
Palomar Mountain State Park Adventure, distance optional (turn back when you choose to).
Up to 8 miles of steep inclines, wet creek crossings and moderate altitude (4500-5600). Visit 5 waterfalls, enjoy numerous wet creek crossings, and see amazing historical sites.
Meet at Silvercrest trailhead 8:45 AM. Step off at 9 AM sharp!
The Silvercrest trailhead is located 1/2 mile before the paid parking entry kiosk on the right side of the road in a large dirt turnout.
Bring water, a snack or lunch. Bring a visor or hat or sunscreen, sunglasses and appropriate walking / hiking attire and shoes. Bring an extra pair of socks for the drive home. Port-a-potties available.
Entire activity should take about 5 hours if you go all eight miles and stop along the way for pictures or a snack or rest break.
