Speakers:
Session 1: What is EthicalAI and why it is important by Peter Zipparo
Presenting the key set of principles that have emerged around Ethical AI/ResponsibleAI, and which are being reflected in emerging regulations and national/international frameworks, as well as by leading tech companies. Data scientists who have knowledge of these principles will be ahead of the curve and well-positioned for leadership opportunities, as an understanding of the areas that are being regulated will allow them to build in consideration of these principles by design – both protecting and enhancing value to their organizations.
Bio:
Peter Zipparo is a lawyer for McKinsey who is legal expert on ResponsibleAI. He is leading the development of McKinsey's internal ResponsibleAI governance program and has published articles on the topic of AI ethics
Session2: Operationalise responsible AI: How to build guardrails for ML and GenAI models
GenAI has accelerated the need for organisations to produce guidelines and frameworks to responsibly implement AI. Trusting the outcome of generative AI models will be a huge differentiator for organisation to scale this technology across an organisation. Yet, executives still wrestle with how to translate principle and guideline for ResponsibleAI into operations. Over the session, Mara and team will show how they created a human-centred approach to define tangible metrics that was translated into customisable coding assets acting as guardrails that help teams keep models in check.
Bio:
Mara is an Associate Design Director at McKinsey & Company, where she helps organisations drive AI adoption with the overarching objective of finding the strategic intersection between AI models and human intents to implement ResponsibleAI systems that move organisations forward.
Technical demo: Responsible content generation
Generating content for customer engagement in the highly regulated banking context is challenging. We've built a novel system of automated guardrails to ensure that messages generated with LLMs are reliable and trustworthy. In this demo, we will share how we designed the guardrails for detection and mitigation of potential risks and how this work relates to traditional approaches in Fair and Ethical AI
Bio:
Viktoriia Oliinyk & David Roschewitz are Senior Data Scientists from the Mckinsey London office who are building horizontal assets around FairnessAI.
Sponsors:
This event is sponsored by QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey.
QuantumBlack is an advanced analytics firm operating at the intersection of strategy, technology and design to improve performance outcomes for organisations.
