Graph visualisation and BI system for realtime Big Data

Details
Welcome to our third Advanced Data Visualisation meet-up!
Schedule:
6:30pm: Free beer+pizza, socialise around
7:00pm: “A guide to graph visualisation” by Dr. Joe Parry (https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=40302658), Founder & CEO at Cambridge Intelligence
Graph theory, once a relatively obscure branch of mathematics, is enjoying a boom. As new use cases develop, more and more applications built on graph data find their way into the workplace. Consequently, enterprise architects, analysts and data scientist need to communicate their graphs to a non-technical audience of business users.
This is where graph visualisation plays a vital role. At the border of visualisation design and graph theory, this talk will give an overview of the possible approaches to graph visualisation, including a summary of the different techniques required to make graph data accessible to non-experts.
Biography: Dr Joe Parry has worked on data visualisation systems for government agencies for more than fifteen years. Prior to establishing Cambridge Intelligence in 2011, Joe was the Head of Research at i2, now part of IBM, responsible for the Analyst's Notebook line of products. Joe also holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, obtained whilst part of Stephen Hawking's research group at Cambridge University.
7:45pm: Quick break
8:00pm: "Advanced Data Visualisation for Business Value" by Volodymyr Kazantsev (https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=4793940), Head of Data Science at Product Madness
