# 🌍 Free English Conversation Practice — Advanced Learners (B2–C1)
Want to speak English more naturally, express complex ideas clearly, and feel more confident discussing what’s happening in the world?
Join us for a FREE online English conversation session designed specifically for upper-intermediate and advanced learners (B2–C1).
This isn’t a traditional English lesson. It’s a space to talk, think, debate, exchange perspectives, and actively use your English with other advanced learners.
### 🗞️ This session: Current Events
Each meetup will explore interesting current events and topics shaping our world.
You’ll have the chance to share your perspective, respond to different viewpoints, ask questions, agree and disagree respectfully, and develop your ideas in real conversation.
### 💬 Build more sophisticated vocabulary
We’ll introduce useful advanced phrases for expressing opinions and debating, so you can move beyond basic expressions like “I think…” and “I agree…”.
You'll practise language for:
- expressing and qualifying opinions
- agreeing and disagreeing naturally
- challenging an argument politely
- presenting counterarguments
- asking for clarification
- adding nuance to your ideas
- keeping a discussion moving
### 🎯 What you'll get from the session
Expect plenty of speaking time and opportunities to:
✓ Build fluency and accuracy
✓ Expand your active vocabulary
✓ Discuss real-world topics
✓ Express complex ideas more confidently
✓ Meet like-minded English learners from around the world
### ⚠️ Advanced learners only
This meetup is designed for learners at approximately B2–C1 level.
You should already be comfortable holding a conversation in English and be able to discuss more complex subjects. The goal isn't to learn basic English — it's to push your existing English further.
### 💻 Where?
Online via Zoom
The event is hosted through **Meetup.com**. Join from wherever you are — bring your ideas, your curiosity, and your voice.
### 🌎 Come ready to talk!
There are no perfect answers and you don't need to be an expert on current affairs. The aim is to explore different perspectives while improving the English you need to express your own.
