We have 2 speakers to talk about building data products and bringing data science to software developers.
- Building Machine Learning Applications with Sparkling Water:
Writing applications which are processing and analyzing large amount of data is still hard. It often requires to design and run Machine Learning experiments in small scale and then consolidate them into a form of application and run them in large scale. There are several distributed machine learning platforms which are trying to mitigate this effort. In this talk we will focus on Sparkling Water which is combining benefits of two platforms – H2O and Spark. H2O is an open-source distributed math-engine providing tuned Machine Learning library, Spark is an execution platform which allows for processing large amount of data. The talk will demonstrate Sparkling Water features and shows its benefits for building rich and robust Machine Learning applications.
- Build a Cybersecurity application with H2O and AWS Lambda
Develop a Cybersecurity machine learning application with the tandem use of H2O and AWS Lambda, a compute service that runs code – A Lambda function – on demand. AWS Lambda simplifies the process of running code in the cloud by managing compute resource automatically.
Presenters:
Ashrith Barthur, Security Data Scientist at H2O.ai. Ashrith is the security scientist designing anomalous detection algorithms at H2O. He recently graduated from the Center of Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) at Purdue University with a PhD in Information security. He is specialized in anomaly detection on networks under the guidance of Dr. William S. Cleveland.
Ludi Rehak is a hacker at H2O, where she helps make machine learning algorithms fast. She enjoys harnessing the unreasonable effectiveness of data in projects that apply data science to daily life. Ludi holds a Master’s degree in Statistics from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Cornell University with a concentration in Computational Biology. Previously, she was a software engineer on the search team at Jive Software, an EMT, a plant biology researcher, and a tennis instructor.
