Photography 101: Aperture (1 of 3)

Details

If you can successfully use aperture, ISO, and shutter speed, you are on your way to understanding how to create the perfect exposure. If you can master aperture, you can creatively control your camera. This is the first of 3 meetups that will breakdown the key fundamentals of photography. You will be given a small aperture "assignment" to work through during the meetup to help you fully understand and showcase aperture technique. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Why aperture is such a key element to photography
  • The larger the aperture the more the light is let in, the smaller the aperture the less light is let in - and why that's important
  • How aperture controls your depth of field

WHAT TO BRING:

  • A telephoto or macro lens (think 70-200)
  • A good attitude and a creative mind
  • Tripod optional

WHERE TO MEET:

We will gather right at the entrance of the Lake Harriet Rose Garden. There is paid parking across the street.
