January Meetup #2- Annual Planning Meeting

Details
Well folks, I lucked out and got the meeting room at Yarborough Library for Thursday night when there was a cancellation. So Thursday night we'll get together in their meeting room and hold our annual planning meeting for the group.
The ATXDM group had a pretty good year in 2009, the meetings were much more well-attended than in 2008, and that's with meetings being twice a month as opposed to just once a month in 2008. Having said that, it's time for us to look at where the group is going in 2010 and what we want to do to get there.
There are a number of ideas I have leftover from last year that we never quite got started on, but I also want to discuss possibilities involving interaction with other groups with similar interests in Austin. These groups could include (but aren't limited to) the Adobe User Group, Refresh Austin, and the Drupal and Coworking Meetup groups. All of them are looking at expansion and more activity in the coming year, perhaps a few joint meetings are in order.
All of this is not to ignore our job club functionality, and I definitely want to do more in 2010 to help people find work and/or jobs (I'm on that list myself). Getting more speakers (not just employment or work-related) and working on more focused job search activities are just two things I'd like to make happen.
So come out Thursday night (sorry, again not a regular night) to Yarborough Library on Hancock Drive (off Burnet Rd, just down from Recycled Reads at North Loop) and let's brainstorm and get some plans hashed out.
I'll have the laptop and the projector as usual, so if you want to bring something or show something online, either for these planning purposes, or just to get feedback, we'd love to see it. Thanks everyone!
