First day-hike of the season and that too for a noble cause. So join and be a part of it.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL AE EVENTS ARE MEANT FOR ITS MEMBERS ONLY AND PROVIDED THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE ONE-TIME MEMBERSHIP DOCUMENTS. You don't need to resubmit these, unless an update is required. THOSE WHO HAVEN'T submitted the membership documents, PLEASE DO SO, ATLEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE THE START TIME OF THE EVENT.

This requirement applies only for those who plan to join the Hike component of this event.

LEVEL:
Hike: Grade 2 (Intermediate),
Family event: open to all.

SUITABLE FOR:
All ages. However, the hike component is meant for Adults only but children above 15y can join provided they remain with their parent all thru the hike. If you wish to register your minor child for the hike, please PM the child details to the event lead and make sure that the said child is included in your membership undertaking.

ACCESS:
You don’t need a 4x4 to access the trailhead, it's tarmac or graded track all the way.

PLAN:

  • Morning Hike (optional),
  • Discussion/tips by doctor(s) on cancer prevention and nutrition,
  • Meet members who have successfully fought with cancer and are now leading a normal life,
  • Family fun games,
  • Any other matter of mutual interest
  • Collective breakfast and lunch – all participants required to bring food for themselves and little extra to share.

MEETING POINT: Green Mubazzarah, Al Ain, exact Map pointer shall be given a day before the event.

WHAT TO BRING – FOR HIKE:

  • Headlamp;
  • Comfortable walking shoes (hiking/sand boots highly recommended due to the rugged terrain);
  • Full Sleeved Shirt/Top, Full Pants/Trousers, preferably bright colours, please avoid black and grey;
  • A backpack with shoulder and waist straps;
  • High reflective jacket (recommended);
  • Cap / hat / scarf;
  • hiking gloves;
  • Whistle;
  • Hiking poles;
  • walkie talkie (optional, but strongly advised)
  • 3 liters of water and other hydration liquids e.g. Laban, Lemon juice, Pokari/ IsoStar or equivalent for the hike,
  • Fruits (Apples, oranges, and bananas);
  • Some light snacks and nuts;
  • Basic First Aid kit and your usual medication.

WHAT TO BRING – FOR post-hike family fun activities:

  • Camping chair / picnic mat;
  • Camping table;
  • Food, water and other beverages of your choice – for yourselves and some extra to share;
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes, just in case we decide  to play some games, run or do some yoga.

All registering for the hike component of the event should complete the document at (3) above and forward scanned copies of the same along with the filled-up excel sheet at (4) above and copies of your valid passport or Emirates ID to “AdventureEmarat@gmail.com”, unless already done.
