What we’re about

This group is designed to bring people of all ages and abilities together to have adventures, outdoors and indoors. Our event organizers post meetups to enjoy what Oklahoma and surrounding states have to offer. Events will range from outdoor adventures including hiking, camping, and biking and indoor adventures such as dinners and museums, as well as other unique events as they come up.

Note: By RSVP'ing to meetups, you acknowledge that event hosts are volunteers, you are responsible for yourself and your actions, and the group will not be held liable for potential injuries. I want to make sure this group is a fun and safe environment for everyone but there are inherent risks associated with outdoor activities. Happy adventuring!

Greetings, everyone! This is your captain speaking .... or something. Time for the first local hike in awhile. We'll be meeting at the Two Rivers trailhead that's right before the start of the bridge that crosses the Keystone Dam on Highway 151. We'll then hike the Two Rivers Trail, which has some pretty difficult hills just FYI, and then we'll get in or cars and drive right down the road to hike the short loop of the Keystone Singletrack Trail. In all, the hiking will total four miles. Afterward, for those who want to swim, we can either head to Keystone State Park to go swimming or the waterfront area adjacent to the Two rivers Trail. Keep in mind that it will be $8 per vehicle to swim at Keystone State Park.

Everyone makes their own reservations for campsite. Go here to reserve. I got site 113.

Arrive in Dallas/Fort Worth Friday night when you can. Make a comment in event page if we are out and about exploring.

Saturday catch a DART Green Light rail train to the Texas state fair (our campsite is near the northern end of the train route). Watch the game outside the stadium or head to nearby Deep Ellum if there are not big screens setup at the state fair. See here for route info.

Leave Sunday when you want to.

I am participating in a triathlon in Keller (also part of DFW) on Sunday. For details/register click here. Can join if interested just know that I’m not fast.

I don’t plan on doing a lot of stuff at the camp site. Campsite is just a cheap place to sleep.

Fall Camping and Hiking at Mount Nebo State Park, Arkansas! Over 32 miles of hiking and biking trails rated from easy to very hard. Something for everyone. We will group up on Saturday morning based on fitness levels and interests. Do a mile or ten miles. Dogs welcome, campfires and hoodies in the forecast 😀

Greetings, who's ready for a Fall-hiking, leaf-peeping extravaganza? Yup, me too! We will be meeting at the address above at Cedar Lake. From there, we will embark on a five-mile hike around the lake and partially on the Horse Thief Spring Trail. The hike has some moderate elevation gain but nothing too bad. After the hike, we will drive about 30 minutes to the Pine mountain Vista along the Talimena Scenic Byway. We will then drive westward along the byway, pulling off at the vistas along the way to take in the stunning beauty of the Fall colors in the mountains. Our final stop will be the Choctaw Vista near the junction of Highway 1 and Highway 271. We will call it a day after that.
