Canyoneering 101 - Beginner

I set this as an waitlist only event so that everyone responds to the question. I hope to get as many people possible on this trip!

Preference will go to those who have attended at least one adventure society event already.

Wet suits are recommended. You can rent them at the place we are meeting - next adventure paddle center.

A magical oasis awaits you in one of the most pristine river canyons in the nw. This is a non technical route that although requires quite a bit of swimming is one of the most beautiful sets of canyons and waterfalls in the nw. no rope needed. It should be a super hot day, but if you have it i would recommend bringing a wetsuit!

It's going to be another hot day this Sunday! Perfect for a canyon exploration.

Wetsuits are recommended as there should be a fair bit of swimming. I want to note that this is an off trail/exploration experience. We are not likely to encounter anyone on this trip. If you're not comfortable in places that aren't pathed and populated this is not for you. I expect to spend 4-5 hours going up the canyon and then making our way up to the road for a walk back. We might park a car further up the road to make it a shorter walk back. The pace will be chill as we expect people to take care around the rocks and swims. I can see on the map that this canyon has a lot to offer and there is the possibility of exploring more of it at a later date.

Dry bags are good, as are a second pair of shoes for the ride back. As well as a complete set of dry clothes for when your done
