Greenwich Palace and Park

Details
Join us for a lovely walk around Greenwich Palace and Park. Greenwich is the place 'where time began' (Greenwich mean time), and ground zero ( the prime meridian) the line of longitude from which every place on earth is measured. We'll walk around old Greenwich Palace, the old naval hospital, and the old Naval College, pass the Royal Observatory where the puzzle of calculating a ships' Longitude was finally solved. We will see the Elizabeth I tree, Queen Caroline's bath, a Roman archeological site, Greenwich market and hear of the story of the Jack Cade's cave where he sheltered before leading his rebels to London, (where naked masked balls were held, and where Jimi Hendrix played a gig - not all at the same time). And lots more. The cost of the walk is a very reasonable £8. It will take about 2 and a half hours and we will endeavour to find a nice cafe for a coffee afterwards.
Meet:Just outside Greenwich station, (it's on the DLR/National Rail line). Greenwich High Street. Look out for a bearded man in his sixties with a London Friends Walks sign. My mobile number is 07988224846 should you have any trouble finding us.
