What we’re about
Welcome to Adventure Solos!
I'm Chris, founder of Adventure Solos, and I hope you'll feel really welcome here.
At Adventure Solos, a lot of our guests are fairly new to the outdoors and adventures. We aim to create a fun, friendly and safe environment where you can rediscovering yourself, challenge yourself and meeting new people. Perhaps you've been through some life changes over the last few years and are ready to get back out there and try new things. If so, you're in the right place!
We are a community of around 60,000 people in their 30s, 40s and 50s, including several Meetup groups, Facebook and Website subscribers.
Our solo-friendly events are typically weekend events with accommodation where you can try a selection of new activities with all equipment provided and professional instructors - although we do offer some more adventurous expedition events too - more on those here.
If you're just starting out though, the best way to get to know us is by joining the mailing list - email is the main channel we use to stay in touch with our lovely guests. You're very welcome to sign up too - in fact I'd highly recommend it. You can do that online by clicking on the link below:

I am pleased you have found us and I look forward to welcoming you to an event in due course.
Chris

Perhaps you've already enjoyed our stunning, beginner-friendly Canoe Scotland Expedition. On this West Coast Canoe Expedition, we're heading to the beautiful beaches of the West Coast of Scotland.
We are on the water each day but this time the itinerary is a tiny bit more relaxed, giving more time for socializing, beachcombing, wild swimming, and walks to remote beauty spots and castle ruins.
In the evening we camp on white sand beaches that wouldn't be out of place in the Caribbean. The wildlife can be fantastic too - I've spent time paddling with a Minke Whale in the area in the past, so keep your eyes open for these gentle and majestic creatures. There are also otters, pine martens, and seals so keep your eyes peeled!
Please note: You can save 5% off the first West Coast Canoe Expedition on our pioneer event (starting Monday 20th May) by using code 'WCPioneer' at checkout for a limited time. - Canoe Scotland by Adventure SolosPH33 7PL, Fort William
Canoe Scotland by Adventure Solos: This beginner-friendly adventure is a spectacular way to discover Scotland.
We're surrounded by nature and paddle along beautiful canals and lochs on this 5-day trip. With breath-taking scenery, awesome glens and the challenge of Loch Ness - this majestic route is our favourite adventure. When the Summer breeze is behind us, we'll set up some basic sails and enjoy the views as we're propelled along by nature - this is a thrill not to be missed! There are opportunities to enjoy wild swims with new friends in sparkling waters and in the evenings we wild camp on the shores of lochs.
The Canoe Scotland Adventure is capped off with a huge sense of achievement and will really make your Summer one to remember.

https://www.AdventureSolos.com/canoe-scotland-adventure - The Roaches & Lud's Church Peak District by Adventure SolosNeeds location
Lud's Church has a 'wow-factor'. It is a gorge or chasm in the surrounding rock and is approximately 20m deep and 100m long. It has steep, moss-covered sides, giving it a mysterious or mystical feel. It seems a little other-worldly; like you've stepped into a Lord of the Rings landscape.
We continue our hike up onto The Roaches - a wide ridge (a bit like Mam Tor if you've been on that hike with us) with views of the countryside below.
If we are making good progress, we might pop down to 'Hen Cloud' too, essentially the end of The Roaches with more fantastic views (we just have to double back on ourselves a few hundred meters if we do).
The highest point on this route is 505m. The route we will follow is 10 miles (16km) and will take around 6 hours. The ridge is a nice wide path, making it suitable for those with a fear of heights. We walk at a steady pace for this hike, but you should have a moderate to good level of fitness to allow you to complete the walk. The event starts and ends at the car park in Gradback, SK17 0SU (or the farmer's nearby overflow car park if that's full). We'll drive 5 minutes up the road to the New Inn Pub for a social chat and drink (non-alcoholic is fine) afterwards. For more information or to book your spot, visit:
