Let’s do the AT over a weekend!
In this hike series, we are taking on the longest hiking-only footpath in the world – one section at a time. And this is our overnight trip! That’s right – we’ll drive up on Friday evening and have dinner the guides will cook for you. We’ll spend a night in a house we are renting just for our group (with a game room and a hot tub), then hike Saturday. On Sunday, we’ll do a shorter hike and spend the afternoon in Jim Thorpe before heading back to the City.
On Day 1, we’ll hike the beautiful ridge line and ascent Bear Rock. Day 2 will be a day with shorter mileage to allow for a more moderate pace. We’ll continue along the same ridge and hike up Bake Oven Knob. We will finish up our weekend with exploring the town of Jim Thorpe in the Poconos.
Because this is a point-to-point hike, there is no need to double-back. It’s only the Appalachian Trail, and it’s new places all day long. Come explore the AT with us!
Accommodations: Shared chalet with just our group – four-person bunk room. Single and double rooms available for an extra $100 and $75 fee respectively. The chalet has a hot tub, game room, fire place, and outdoor space. There will be some down time to relax with a book or just enjoy the house.
Meals: Guides will cook dinners and breakfasts for you and provide ingredients to make lunches for the trail. Please bring snacks and money for a meal at Jim Thorpe on the last day.
