Let’s do the AT in during Fall Foliage season!
In this hike series, we are taking on the longest hiking-only footpath in the world – one section at a time. And this is our overnight trip! That’s right – we’ll drive up early on Saturday, hike, spend a night in a house we are renting just for our group, then hike Sunday, and spend the morning in Jim Thorpe on the holiday Monday before heading back to the City.
On Day 1, we’ll hike the beautiful ridge line and ascent Bear Rock. Day 2 will be a day with shorter mileage to allow for a more moderate pace. We’ll continue along the same ridge and hike up Bake Oven Knob. We will finish up our weekend with exploring the town of Jim Thorpe in the Poconos.
Because this is a point-to-point hike, there is no need to double-back. It’s only the Appalachian Trail, and it’s new places all day long. Come explore the AT with us!Accommodations: Shared chalet with just our group – four-person bunk room. Single and double rooms available for an extra $100 and $75 fee respectively. The chalet has a hot tub, game room, fire place, and outdoor space.
Note: This is an INTERMEDIATE+ trip. The pace will be moderate, but in order to get to the hotel before nighttime, the group will keep moving throughout the day, with a shorter stop for lunch.
