Spend 4th of July with us!
Fancy a dip in one of the Shawangunks’ glacial “sky lakes”? Come with us!
We’ll spend the day on carriage roads of the beautiful Minnewaska State Park. We’ll stop to take a dip in Lake Awosting (there are changing rooms right by the lake!), then continue to hike around the entire lake, taking in all its natural beauty.Even though this trip has longer mileage, the carriage roads are gentler than traditional hiking trails. This is a perfect day for an intermediate-level hiker or advanced hikers looking for a relaxing day out!

We are off to Minnewaska – everyone’s favorite park for breathtaking views!
We’ll start our day at a gorgeous waterfall. Awosting Falls are created when Peters Kill (‘kill’ is the Dutch word for ‘creek’) plunges 70 feet off a cliff. We’ll follow Peters Kill, observing the cascades that form when the water meets river stones.
For the second half of the day, we’ll take a cliff trail studded with panoramic views. Maybe we’ll even spot a porcupine (while sightings are rare, Minnewaska is the only place I have seen them in the wild)!
Finally, after our hike, it’s off to a local farmstand for fresh produce, coffee, and delicious baked goods!
