Mount Waterman and Twin Peaks Trail Loop

This is hike #5 of our training hikes, and again, it's open to everyone.

Things are getting fun now. This one is an 11-mile loop with 3,730 feet of total elevation gain. This is at the Mt. Waterman ski area, off the Angeles Crest Hwy, so the views are absolutely stunning. It’s also not a busy trail, so this is going to be an all-around amazing hike!

This is a strenuous hike, and there is no easy bailout, so if you missed the first four training hikes and have not been hiking, this is not for you. Sorry, I gave you FOUR chances! Now you get to enjoy our pictures. :-P

The hike should take about 7 hours total, and sunset is at 20:05, so I’m going to make this a late start again: 9:00 a.m. We’ll meet at Buckhorn Day Area Parking Lot. The map on Meetup should be correct, but here is a pin in case you need it:

There should be plenty of parking, but it’s not a bad idea to carpool. There’s a great location at the bottom of the hill, at the very beginning of Angeles Crest Hwy, where we can meet. It’s a residential area with plenty of parking. So, whoever wants to carpool, just be there at 7:45 a.m. We’ll sort carpools out and drive with as few cars as possible. The location is one hour away from Buckhorn, so we’ll leave at 7:55. Cool?

Afterwards, as always, we’ll go for pizza, because that’s why we do these hikes. The harder the hike, the more pizza we earn, so this one will earn you a large pizza! :-D
