Join us for a beautiful countryside walk exploring the best woodland and parkland that Essex has to offer. This scenic circular route from Brentwood Station takes us through the trails of Thorndon Country Park, peaceful woodlands, wide-open meadows, and quiet rural lanes—perfect for walkers who enjoy variety without anything too strenuous.

We begin with gentle tracks leading from Brentwood into the green fringes of Thorndon South, gradually making our way onto woodland footpaths, bridleways and open grassy sections.
The park is full of character—quiet ponds, old oak woodland, wildlife-rich glades, and lovely sheltered paths. The route continues south and loops around through peaceful farmland and tree-lined avenues before re-entering Thorndon Country Park, following winding forest paths and easygoing trails back towards town.
Expect a mix of woodland, rolling parkland and wide skies, making this an enjoyable and approachable countryside walk suitable for regular hikers and newer walkers alike.

What to Wear and Bring:
- Our walks go ahead in all weather, so dress appropriately. Always carry a waterproof jacket.
- Check the forecast and bring sun cream, a hat, or sunglasses for warm days, and waterproofs, a warm hat, and gloves for cold or wet days.
- Wear trousers or leggings to reduce the risk of tick bites and nettle stings. Avoid denim or cotton.
- Sturdy walking shoes or boots are essential. Open-toe shoes are unsuitable.
- Bring at least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, and snacks, as there may be no opportunities to buy food or drinks along the route.
- Public toilets may not be available on the route.

You are responsible for your own health and safety. Ensure you can hike continuously for the duration specified. Dress appropriately, please bring the required gear and carry any personal medications. Participants without proper equipment may be unable to join the walk.
