The Hike:
We’ll walk through Wendover Woods, explore the ancient ridgeways above St Leonards, and pass near hidden hamlets like Hastoe and Buckland Common. Expect some decent climbs early on and undulating paths as we traverse the ridge – with plenty of rest stops and chances to soak in the views. Along the way, you’ll find a mix of chalky trails, wooded paths, and open countryside – ideal terrain for confident walkers who enjoy a steady challenge without anything too extreme.Highlights:
- Wendover Woods - A beautiful start through tall beech and mixed woodlands, offering cool shade and lovely views.
- The Ridgeway - A stretch of Britain's oldest road, with wide open views across the Chiltern Hills.
- Sweeping views - Panoramic viewpoints across the Aylesbury Vale and rolling Chiltern countryside.
- Classic Chilterns scenery: red kites overhead, peaceful farmland, and winding trailsWhat to Wear and Bring:
- Our walks go ahead in all weather, so dress appropriately. Always carry a waterproof jacket.
- Check the forecast and bring sun cream, a hat, or sunglasses for warm days, and waterproofs, a warm hat, and gloves for cold or wet days.
- Wear trousers or leggings to reduce the risk of tick bites and nettle stings. Avoid denim or cotton.
- Sturdy walking shoes or boots are essential. Open-toe shoes are unsuitable.
- Bring at least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, and snacks, as there may be no opportunities to buy food or drinks along the route.

Join us for an afternoon out paddling the River Lea We will spend a relaxed day paddleboarding in Hertfordshire from Broxbourne and back. No experience needed & all equipment is included.

End time - 2.30pmWe embark on a scenic paddle along the River Lea, commencing at Ware. Our adventure will take us along the tranquil waters of the River Lea towards Dobbs Weir and then back again. With a touch of luck, we might catch glimpses of majestic Herons, graceful Swallows, and elegant Great Crested Grebes along the way.

Everyone will be provided a buoyancy aid and a quick release belt. You must be able to swim 20 meters.
The paddleboards are suitable for anyone up to 85kg / 13.5stone.
This session is run by a qualified and insured paddle Sport leader / instructor. Outdoor first aider, British Canoeing foundation rescue and safety qualified.What to wear/ bring:
- Leggings (not cotton) / tee shirt (not cotton) and trainers (that you don’t mind getting wet)
If its cold
- Fleece/ waterproof jacket / Waterproof trousers
If its warm
- Hat, Sunglasses and suncream.
- Spare fleece (to put in a dry bag whatever the weather)

We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware this activity will still go ahead in the rain. (You will splash yourself anyway!) Please dress for the weather. Unsafe weather conditions: We will monitor the weather and may have to cancel at short notice (the morning of the event) if weather conditions look to be unsafe to paddle. Join us for a 4-day Lake District escape blending breathtaking fells, tranquil lakes, and a final hit of adventure in the treetops at Go Ape.This weekend is all about getting out into wild places, sharing the journey with other adventurous women, and experiencing the very best of the Lakes — from rugged summits to peaceful lakeside paths and an unforgettable zipline finale.
We’ll stay at a cosy countryside base and explore three very different walking areas, Each day is designed to offer a new perspective of the Lake District — whether it’s sweeping fell-top views, scenic lakeside paths, or the thrill of flying through the forest canopy.
- Dates: Friday 19th – Monday 22nd September 2025
- Base: Herdwick House, Hutton Moor End
- Overall Grade: 3.5 / 5 – Challenging with Some Tough Sections
- Suitable for confident walkers with good fitness. Includes one full mountain day with possible scrambling and exposed ridges.Itinerary:
Day 1 – Arrival & Loughrigg Fell Hike
- Distance: 7 km | Elevation gain: 365 m | 2.5 hrs Walking time
- Grade: 2.5/5 – Moderate with some short steeper sections
- Highlights: Rydal Caves, fell-top views, peaceful countrysideWe meet near Ambleside by Rydal Water and head out for a stunning circular hike over Loughrigg Fell, a perfect introduction to the Lake District with rewarding views over Rydal Water and the surrounding valleys.
After the walk we will head to the accommodation to check in before heading out to dinner in a nearby pub or restaurant.Day 2 – Big Mountain Day: Blencathra or Skiddaw (Full Day | Grade 4–5)
- Duration: 8–9 hours
- Grade: 4–5/5 – Tough to Extreme but rewarding
- Elevation: Up to 931 m
- Terrain: Mountain trails, rocky sections, possible scrambling and exposure Today is your challenge day — we’ll tackle either Blencathra (868 m) or Skiddaw (931 m), depending on the weather and conditions.This is a full mountain day led by a qualified mountain guide. Expect up to 8–9 hours out on the hills, with steep ascents, rocky ground, and exposed sections. Some of the routes may include light scrambling or narrow ridges, particularly on Blencathra (such as Sharp Edge or Hall’s Fell Ridge), though we’ll only take these options if conditions are suitable. Evening - dinner in a nearby pub or restaurant.
Day 3 – Derwent Water Loop from Keswick (14 km | Grade 2)
- Distance: 14.04 km | Elevation gain: 104 m
- Grade: 2/5 – Easy terrain, great recovery walk
- Highlights: Lakeside views, peaceful trail, KeswickAfter the mountains, we’ll take it easy with a flat, scenic walk around Derwent Water, starting and ending in Keswick. This trail offers mostly lakeside paths with a few shaded sections and peaceful views. We’ll wrap up the walk with a well-earned ice cream in town.
Evening dinner in a nearby pub or restaurant.
Day 4 – Go Ape at Grizedale Forest
We finish the weekend with a fun and active activity at Go Ape – a high ropes adventure in the beautiful setting of Grizedale Forest.
Expect zip lines, rope bridges, and big grins to end the trip on a high.Accommodation:
We’ll be staying at Herdwick House, a welcoming converted barn set in the peaceful countryside of Hutton Moor End. The house features a mix of solo-use rooms, twin-share rooms, and shared rooms (bunk beds), along with communal spaces perfect for relaxing together after a day of adventure.Comfort Grade: Level 3 – Group Accommodation Simple, comfortable and sociable, this exclusive-use accommodation is reserved just for our group. You can expect shared bathrooms and relaxed common areas, with no other guests on-site – giving us space to truly unwind together in the heart of the Lakes.

This is a physically demanding and rewarding weekend designed for women who are up for a challenge. You don’t need to be a mountain expert, but you should have a solid base level of fitness and feel confident walking for several hours at a time, including on rough, hilly, and uneven ground. The highlight is a full mountain day (up to 8–9 hours) on either Blencathra or Skiddaw, led by a professional mountain guide. The days before and after include a warm-up fell walk and a flatter recovery walk around Derwent Water, which offers mostly lakeside paths and some shaded sections.Expect:
- Three guided walks, including a serious mountain day
- A mix of fell terrain and scenic lakeside trails
- A final adventure at Go Ape Grizedale (optional)
- A purposeful and supportive group environment — not a race, but not a dawdle
- Exclusive accommodation just for our group, with room options to suit different budgets

- Harrison Rocks & Eridge Countryside Circular Hike – Kent/ East Sussex - 18kmEridge station, Eridge£15.00
Join us for a stunning 18 km circular walk through the Kent and East Sussex countryside, taking in the dramatic sandstone formations of Harrison Rocks, the peaceful beauty of Eridge Rocks Nature Reserve, and rolling rural views along the Sussex Border Path. This route is a wonderful mix of woodland trails, open countryside, and hidden natural landmarks.

The Hike:
From our start point near Eridge, we follow country paths and woodland tracks towards the impressive Harrison Rocks – a sandstone crag beloved by climbers and rich in geological history.We’ll then head into Eridge Rocks Nature Reserve, home to towering rock outcrops, ancient trees, and a peaceful, almost secret atmosphere. The route takes in sections of the Sussex Border Path, rolling farmland, and quaint hamlets, with gentle undulations building to some rewarding viewpoints. The mix of shaded woodland and open paths makes this a fantastic walk in all seasons.
Highlights:
- Harrison Rocks – Stunning sandstone cliffs and a climbers’ paradise.
- Eridge Rocks Nature Reserve – Towering rocks hidden in peaceful ancient woodland.
- Sussex Border Path – Classic rural views and quiet countryside walking.
