Join us for an invigorating walk through the picturesque Chiltern Hills, exploring the heart of Wendover. This moderate-hard level circular hike begins and ends at Wendover Train Station and is designed for those who enjoy a challenging and rewarding hike.

What to Expect:
This walk offers a variety of landscapes, including rolling hills, woodlands, open countryside, fields, rivers, and streams. Starting from Wendover Station, you'll climb to the peaks of six of the Chiltern Hills: Bacombe Hill, Coombe Hill, Beacon Hill, Pulpit Hill, Hobbs Hill, and Whiteleaf Hill. The effort will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views across the Chilterns.
This hike is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who are comfortable with moderate to hard hiking grades and are looking for a full day of adventure. Expect to be challenged by hills but also delighted by the diverse and beautiful scenery.

Meet at:
Wendover Train Station
Free parking in neighbouring streets (please be mindful of residence and read parking signs)

Lift Shares:
If you are driving and can offer a lift share, kindly use the event chat to offer lifts to fellow participants.
If you're catching a ride, please offer your driver a petrol contribution.

What to wear and bring:
Dress appropriately for the weather as our walks go ahead in rain or shine. It's recommended to carry a waterproof jacket at all times.
Check the forecast and bring sun cream, a hat, etc. for warm days, or waterproofs for wet days.
Since we'll be walking through woodland with nettles and a potential for tick bites, consider wearing trousers or leggings. Avoid denim or cotton.
Opt for walking shoes or boots; open-toe shoes won't be suitable.
As there might not be opportunities to purchase food or drinks along the route, bring at least 1.5 liters of water, lunch, and snacks.
Keep in mind that there won't be public toilets available on the route.

Preparation and Level:
This hike is of a moderate difficulty level, featuring some gentle gradients. You're responsible for your own health and safety, and it's important to be physically capable of hiking continuously for 7 hours. To join the hike, make sure you're dressed appropriately, as inappropriate attire will result in non-participation.

Safety and Guidelines:
Our guided walks are led by certified walking leaders who are Outdoor First Aiders through Mountain Training UK. Please note that no dogs are permitted on our walks.
Adventure Women is an all-female activity group.

Walk Grades:

  • Easy: Mostly flat, under 10 miles, suitable for beginners.
  • Moderate: Inclines, over 10 miles; challenging but doable for most beginners.
  • Hard: Steep inclines and/or over 15 miles; requires some walking/hill fitness.
  • Challenging: Tougher terrain, unsteady ground, hilly, remote areas, full days out; not for beginners.
