Join us for a magical Big Day Out through the heart of Winnie the Pooh Country and Ashdown Forest, a beautiful, rolling landscape steeped in literary charm and woodland wonder.

This 25 km circular route starts near Ashurst and takes in peaceful tracks, forest paths, and open views, all inspired by the world of Winnie-the-Pooh. We'll visit iconic spots including Pooh sticks Bridge, Galleons Lap, The Enchanted Place, and wander through the real-life Five Hundred Acre Wood.

There are plenty of chances to pause for photos, snacks, and stories and we'll even pass through Hartfield village, home to the famous Pooh Corner shop.

Expect a full and rewarding day of walking, with good company, gentle climbs, and lots of forest magic. It's a longer distance, but the terrain is varied and the pace steady, perfect for anyone with a good base level of fitness looking for a special day out.

This is a circular route starting in Ashurst Station Kent, the walk will continue east into High weald (Area of outstanding natural beauty) following the river Medway we will pass the villages of Balls green and Withyham into East Sussex. We will have time to stop in the village of Hartfield, visit Pooh Corner Tea Rooms and explore the museum. Points of interest: - Withyham Church - Mural of The Last Judgement. Painted by Rev. Reginald Sackville West later to become 7th Earl De La Warr, when he was Rector of this church from 1841 to 1865 - River Medway - Five hundred Acre Wood - Wren Warren Valley (also known as Eeyors sad and gloomy place) - Gills Lap Clump - 360 views and Memorial to AA Milne - Pooh Sticks Bridge (playing pooh sticks is very encouraged!) - Village of Hartfield & Pooh Corner shop and musuem - High Weald AOND is a medieval landscape of wooded, rolling hills studded with sandstone outcrops; small, irregular-shaped fields; scattered farmsteads; and ancient routeways. What to Wear and Bring:
- Our walks go ahead in all weather, so dress appropriately. Always carry a waterproof jacket.
- Check the forecast and bring sun cream, a hat, or sunglasses for warm days, and waterproofs, a warm hat, and gloves for cold or wet days.
- Wear trousers or leggings to reduce the risk of tick bites and nettle stings. Avoid denim or cotton.
- Sturdy walking shoes or boots are essential. Open-toe shoes are unsuitable.
- Bring at least 1.5 litres of water, lunch, and snacks, as there may be no opportunities to buy food or drinks along the route.
- Public toilets may not be available on the route.

Preparation and Fitness:
You are responsible for your own health and safety. Ensure you can hike continuously for the duration specified. Dress appropriately, please bring the required gear and carry any personal medications. Participants without proper equipment may be unable to join the walk.

Our experienced, qualified leaders are skilled in navigation, first aid, and outdoor leadership. Each route is carefully planned to match the advertised grade, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enjoyable experience.

Additional Information: Dogs are not permitted on our walks. Adventure Women UK is an all-female activity group, and participants must be over 18.
