Join us for a 4-day Lake District escape blending breathtaking fells, tranquil lakes, and a final hit of adventure in the treetops at Go Ape.

This weekend is all about getting out into wild places, sharing the journey with other adventurous women, and experiencing the very best of the Lakes — from rugged summits to peaceful lakeside paths and an unforgettable zipline finale.

We’ll stay at a cosy countryside base and explore three very different walking areas, Each day is designed to offer a new perspective of the Lake District — whether it’s sweeping fell-top views, scenic lakeside paths, or the thrill of flying through the forest canopy.

- Dates: Friday 19th – Monday 22nd September 2025
- Base: Herdwick House, Hutton Moor End
- Overall Grade: 3.5 / 5 – Challenging with Some Tough Sections
- Suitable for confident walkers with good fitness. Includes one full mountain day with possible scrambling and exposed ridges.

Itinerary:

- Distance: 7 km | Elevation gain: 365 m | 2.5 hrs Walking time
- Grade: 2.5/5 – Moderate with some short steeper sections
- Highlights: Rydal Caves, fell-top views, peaceful countryside

We meet near Ambleside by Rydal Water and head out for a stunning circular hike over Loughrigg Fell, a perfect introduction to the Lake District with rewarding views over Rydal Water and the surrounding valleys.
After the walk we will head to the accommodation to check in before heading out to dinner in a nearby pub or restaurant.

Day 2 – Big Mountain Day: Blencathra or Skiddaw (Full Day | Grade 4–5)

- Duration: 8–9 hours
- Grade: 4–5/5 – Tough to Extreme but rewarding

This is a full mountain day led by a qualified mountain guide. Expect up to 8–9 hours out on the hills, with steep ascents, rocky ground, and exposed sections. Some of the routes may include light scrambling or narrow ridges, particularly on Blencathra (such as Sharp Edge or Hall’s Fell Ridge), though we’ll only take these options if conditions are suitable.
