Scenic Hike from Castle Combe to Lacock, Cotswolds.

Event Description:

Often referred to as the 'prettiest village in England,' Castle Combe's timeless beauty made it an ideal location for Downton Abbey's village scenes. The Market Cross and St. Andrew's Church are just a couple of the charming spots to explore. You will have 1 hour to explore the village before we start the hike towards Lacock.

Come along for a stunning countryside adventure as we hike from the picture-perfect village of Castle Combe to the historic beauty of Lacock! This route combines natural splendor, gentle hills, and centuries of fascinating history—perfect for hikers who love both the outdoors and heritage.
We’ll begin our day with a comfortable journey from Hammersmith Station, traveling together by 52-seater luxury coach. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride through the English countryside as we make our way to Castle Combe, often described as the “prettiest village in England.”

With its quaint stone cottages, a 14th-century market cross, and the peaceful Bybrook River, Castle Combe feels like stepping back in time. The village dates back to Roman times and became a hub for the medieval wool trade. You’ll also see St. Andrew’s Church, home to one of the oldest working medieval clocks in England.
After exploring Castle Combe, we’ll head out on a scenic walk through the Cotswold hills to Lacock, about 6 miles away. Lacock is just as charming, with buildings preserved for centuries and a fascinating history tied to Lacock Abbey—founded in the 1200s and later home to photography pioneer William Henry Fox Talbot. It’s also been a filming location for Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, and more.
