Hillsborough trails: start at Gold Park

Let's meet at Gold Park in Hillsborough, located at 415 Dimmocks Mill Rd. Hillsborough. We'll go on the River Walk trials to the Occoneechee Speedway. We'll do one lap around the speedway, and head back towards Gold Park. From there, we'll go the other direction and go up to the top of Occoneechee Mountain to the overlook.
The trails are some dirt, some paved. The section up to the overlook is very steep, otherwise it is a flat hike.

This overlook is the only place I know of in this area that gives a true vista.
There are restrooms at Gold Park. If by any chance the parking lot is full, there is more parking just a short walk away, (If you need the other parking lot, turn right out of the Gold Park parking lot, and go to Eno St. The large lot is on your right.)
