Join us for Penn Cove Mussel Fest on Whidbey Island! This will be a pretty awesome day trip from Seattle.
Come taste world famous mussels and learn how they are grown on a farm tour. It's always a wonderful event. “Bold, briny and blue,” the world famous mussels will be the centerpiece of days of festivities.
We'll meet at the park & ride to form carpools at 10 am. Leaving the P&R at 10:15 firm! (If you run late, join us in the line at the ferry dock in Mukilteo). Then we'll take the pretty ferry ride across to Whidbey Island. (either @ 11 or 11:30)
Stop for coffee after the ferry on the way to Coupeville.
Then head to the Mussel Fest Headquarters, located in the heart of historic downtown Coupeville. There are mussel cooking demonstrations, the mussel eating competition, and all things mussels.
We'll explore the festival & town. There is live music, a beer garden, food trucks, various vendors, and of course, mussels.
Then we'll take a boat tour of the Penn Cove Shellfish mussel farm. It's a 45-minute cruise with a tour guide that tells you more than you ever knew about mussels. We'll be on the water, so make sure to dress warmly.

We'll be carpooling.
We'll meet at the Park & Ride to arrange into carpools. Please indicate if you are willing to drive.
- If you plan on being a rider please bring $35 for your driver towards the ferry, gas, parking passes etc.
- Please pay your driver before getting in the car
