For $19 per person, Travelzoo subscribers can cast a line into the Pacific during a half-day deep sea fishing excursion off the coast of Newport Beach. This trip with Newport Landing, which lasts five to six hours and includes unlimited bait, normally costs $41.50.

Those who don't have their own equipment can take this trip with a fishing rod and one set of tackle for $29, regularly $58. During the winter and spring months, passengers can expect to catch fish such as calico bass, sand bass, barracuda, bonito, halibut, yellowtail and white sea bass. Fish that are in season and meet legal size requirements can be taken home (cleaning costs $1 per fish).

Tours take place seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On weekends beginning in May, tours are from 6 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Boats hold a minimum of eight and maximum of 72 passengers, and the experience is suitable for people of all skill levels and ages.

If you are fishing you will also need a fishing license which will probably be around $14. Tax and Fuel Surcharges are not included either, which will be another $10. Overall this is still a great deal.
