What we're about

Want to be HAPPY? Learn what makes you THRIVE!

Yup, like anything else, happiness (and thriving) are skills that can be learned. And it can be SAFE and FUN!

Join our Portland (Inner NE, near Lloyd Center) community of authentic, like-hearted, playful, compassionate, responsible souls who are exploring, experimenting, discovering, and practicing what makes us thrive ... through connecting with our bodies and other "right-brain" ways of expressing ourselves.

We call things that make us thrive "Life-Needs." Think of "Life-Needs" as pathways to thriving ... and happiness!

We do what we do because we think it'll help us survive or thrive. (Even if it's all unconscious.) Ultimately it's all about thriving and being happy -- right?

We're each on our own journey of discovering what makes us thrive (what makes us happy).

And because PLAY, BEING SEEN, and BELONGING are core Life-Needs for all of us, it's much more satisfying to do this exploring together.

ADVENTURES in THRIVING is focused on experiential, workshop-style offerings that give us room to be actively engaged in our own process of exploration and discovery, and to authentically share what we discover with each other.

(Please also check out our other group at http://www.meetup.com/portland-nvc and http://www.meetup.com/awakened-relationships for more authentic, community-based exploration of WAYS TO GET TO THRIVING.)

Come "dip your toe in" and see if you like it!

Warmly,

Vika and the Thriving Life Community

OUR CORE VALUES & PRACTICES, that help us honor and support everyone’s thriving:

* COMPASSION: Understanding that everyone – including you and we – are just trying to thrive (be happy), even when we act without awareness or skill, or out of pain that’s too much for us to hold

* DIGNITY & RESPECT FOR OURSELVES & EACH OTHER, and acknowledging both our shared humanity and our healthy separateness

* AUTHENTICITY/TRANSPARENCY: being real human beings with each other; acknowledging our shared humanity

* LIVING IN ALIGNMENT WITH OUR VALUES

* ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN WELL-BEING, including acknowledging that we are the author of our own lives and experience, and setting boundaries that support our thriving

* DEEPENING OUR CAPACITY TO BE PRESENT AND AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW,

including learning how to notice and experience our present-moment body sensations, feelings, thoughts, and impulses ... without having to numb, avoid, change, or fix them, AND without getting overwhelmed or flooded

* LIVING FROM WHAT'S MOST ALIVE IN US

* CREATING, MODIFYING, & DISSOLVING AGREEMENTS IN WAYS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO EVERYONE'S THRIVING

Come explore, play, and create with us!

Healthy Boundaries - The Path to THRIVING! (7-week Program)

It’s our birthright to THRIVE, and yet most of us work way too hard to create what we’re hoping for, only to end up exhausted, with really unsatisfying results. Did you know that most of our challenges in life and relationships come down to needing better boundaries? The heart of NVC and thriving relationships is about setting healthy boundaries in ways that honor and support everyone’s thriving. In this remarkable 7-week program, you will: * Discover exactly what healthy boundaries are, what weakens and strengthens them, and why “your life” really does depend on developing them * Restore your connection with your inner compass, so that every day you can identify and live from what’s truly important to you * Learn how to recognize the “choice points” in your life — moments when it’s absolutely essential to set healthy boundaries (or pay a price you don’t want to pay) * Discover and resolve the hidden needs that are blocking your ability to get what you really want * Transform persistent anxiety, confusion, anger, or resentment into confidence, clarity, satisfaction, connection — and peace * Experience a sense of belonging, calm, freedom, and fulfillment that you might never have imagined possible … that is your BIRTHRIGHT. By the third session, you’ll experience a distinct shift in your effectiveness in a specific area of your life that’s important to you. By the end of the course, you’ll have experienced the freedom to live from your Real Self in ways you’ve longed for all your life. And you’ll know how to continue to build your power to thrive in all the other areas of your life. (For the most dramatic results, enroll in the Gold Course or add Depth Work “Brain Rewiring” sessions to your Bronze or Silver course.) Come join us for this extraordinary journey … and claim what really matters most to you. * 7 Sundays, 11:00am-1:30pm Pacific * November 1-December 20 (no session Nov 29) For complete details and to register, please visit https://www.thrivinglifenvc.org/healthy-boundaries.
