78 and mostly sunny with light winds. Let's hit the Blue river!

THE PLAN:

We'll meet at Rothrock Mill public access. We'll unload our gear here and then run the shuttle. Once the logistics have been taken care of, we'll start our paddle down one of the most beautiful sections of river in Indiana.
We commonly see bald eagles (There is a nest along our route. Hopefully, it's occupied.), Great Blue heron, hawks, deer, cormorants, and various ducks and geese. Others have seen beaver and otter (I haven't been that lucky yet) There are also tall rocky cliffs along this section of the Blue. Along with the views, we'll enjoy the company of some pretty cool people. We're getting a later start than usual, so we'll stop for lunch around 1pm or so. Make sure you bring lunch or snacks. There is some great rockhounding along this stretch of the river (if you're into that sort of thing). So we'll be taking a little extra time to go on a scavenger hunt to see what treasures we can find.

This is a 10 mile paddle to Blue Chapel. There are some slow spots that you will have to paddle through and there will be a few spots where the water moves pretty quickly and can be a little winding. As always, please know your abilities before joining in. If you have any questions, ask me.

Afterwards, we'll be heading to Rita's Taco Shop in Corydon. This is a Mexican restaurant with great food and service. Come on out!

WARNINGS!!!

It's going to be WARM and SUNNY. Please be prepared with hat, sunglasses, and sunblock. An umbrella could be useful as well. Just ask the Umbrella Man.

We haven't paddled this section in a couple of months and we've had a few floods since then. There is a chance of DOWNED TREES and other potential obstacles along our way. Please stay alert and be prepared to exit your boat and climb over a log or two.

This is a COLD WATER paddle. While the air temperature is going to be in the 70s. The water temperature is going to be very cold. I would suggest that you bring a towel and change of clothes in a dry bag. Just in case.

Solo and tandem kayaks are available to reserve. Please let me know if you need one or more.

If there are any questions, post 'em up in the comment section or send me a message.

I hope to see a bunch of you out there!
