Sunday has cleared up (87 and sunny)! Let's paddle a beautiful section of river that we haven't paddled in years.

The Plan:

We'll enjoy a beautiful day on a beautiful section of river. While we're there we'll do some rockhounding, swimming, and some exploring. Afterwards, we'll have supper at a Cuban restaurant in Seymour.

Details:

We'll meet at the Azalia Bridge boat ramp near Azalia, Indiana at 9:00am eastern. Once everyone has arrived, we'll run the shuttle to get our vehicles to the takeout at Rockford (Seymour, IN). Once the shuttle is complete, we'll have a short safety talk and then begin our adventure.

NOTE: The length of this paddle is approximately 13 miles. We'll be on the water for about 8 hours. However, the river is up and should have good flow.

Along the way, we randomly stop at good places to rockhound and swim. If you don't know about rockhounding, you'll find out Sunday. We're basically scouring gravel bars for cool rocks, fossils, and artifacts (arrow heads). If you're not into rocks, you'll get more beach time ;)
We generally stop around noon for lunch, so bring lunch and snacks for the day. Wildlife viewing is as good as any stream in Indiana. It's unusual if we don't see eagles, heron, and tons of other animals along the way. There are also plenty of interesting things to see along our route.

Once we've completed our paddle, we'll head over to Azucar Cuban restaurant in Seymour for supper. I like trying new local places where ever we go and this is our stop this time. Come on out!

WARNINGS!!!

There is LITTLE TO NO OVERHEAD COVER along our route. Please plan accordingly with hat, sunblock, and or umbrella ;)

It's going to be HOT OUTSIDE! Please bring plenty of fluids and electrolyte replacement of some sort.

Rentals are available. Message me if you need one.

It's going to be another fun adventure! I hope a bunch of you can make it!
