Join THOG for its 20th annual Fall Foliage Event at Great Smoky Mountains National Park along the NC/TN border. This is a great opportunity to see the amazing Fall Colors in the Smokies plus maybe some wildlife such as Elk, Black Bears and Deer.
THINGS TO KNOW
We will be car camping in the Cosby area of the Great Smoky Mountains. Our site can accommodate at least 15 tents. No oversized tents, please. There are bathrooms but no showers.
We’ll hike MOUNT CAMMERER - a 12 mile strenuous round-trip hike with an elevation gain of over 3,000 FT. Our reward- incredible views along the way plus a 360 degree view atop a Lookout Tower at the summit. We will have lunch at the summit after our 4hr hike to the top. Note: there is some trail damage due to Hurricane Helene.
Carpooling is necessary. NOTE: This campsite can only hold around 3-4 cars. There may be overflow parking. Camping is for 2 nights. We’ll discuss carpool options as the trip gets closer.
YOUR RSVP IS YOUR COMMITMENT TO THIS TRIP. Late cancellations (cancellations made within 7 days of the event) or no shows without an emergency will be noted in your THOG account and could affect future rsvp's. Prior late cancellations and no-shows may affect your RSVP.
