What we’re about
The base goal of this group is to bring good people together for laughs and polite conversation, have fun and meet new people at events. The base tenet of this group is respect for political and cultural differences, and courtesy to other members and event organizers.
- Our dining events typically target highly rated restaurants with affordable pricing.
- Our outdoor events are typically geared towards beginner to medium experience.
New Members: please read the following rules and guidelines before joining the group. We look forward to including you at our events! Our goal is for folks to have a good time, and to make people feel safe and welcome, thus our rule structure.
Note to members:
- Outdoor Adventures has a "recognizable single person face" rule.
- Attendance is recorded and may result in removal from the group:
- Folks with no-shows may be removed from the group at any time.
- Repeated late cancels - May result in group removal
- Our wait list in NOT first come, first served. Good attendance and new members are prioritized, as well as members who behave appropriately.
Members are encouraged to talk to other participants and to welcome new members.
- Please avoid political, religious and other hot topics in a larger group.
- Polite behavior. Please keep it light at first as you get to know folks.
- We try to stay upbeat during large gatherings.
- Do not ask embarrassing or deeply personal questions to folks you do not yet know.
- We are not a singles group, so show some subtlety. It is ok to work "Are you single" into the conversation.
- Your profile name must contain your first or last name or nickname
- Have a current single person, recognizable profile picture showing your face clearly before you join. Think passport Photo, as this is your ID for the group. We need to see your face, not your hat, best sunglasses and your cool car.
- Do not sign up for events if you are not sure if you are going to make it. People signing up for events they are not committed to creates a problem for the other members. We have begun removing folks who sign up for many events, but very rarely attend as well as no shows and late cancels.
- Keep your RSVP updated if you are on the wait list or going list. In the case of no shows or late cancellation, there may be people on the wait list or waiting to see if slots open up that don't get to go because of late cancellations or no-shows.
A final note: Large events often overwhelm our venues' ability to provide speedy service. Our events are more about social contact and conversation. Relax and enjoy the conversations and expect some delays. Please be courteous to our servers and our venues.
We are highly rated (4.8 group rating). Please reach out and share what went wrong if you give us a 4 rating or below at an event. We want to know, and may reach out (respectfully) and ask if we do not know why. Feel free to message the primary organizer if anything goes wrong.
Folks are welcome to propose events and even lead their own events. Events are not limited to these following categories, so don't feel constrained:
- Hike and Walks
- Concerts
- Lunch outings
- Dinner outings
- Brunch
- Campouts
- Festivals
- Cultural outings
- Purely social events
- Trail & Town Biking
We are hoping to get volunteers for both hosting and becoming Event Organizers. Feel free to reach out.
Photo Rule additional detail: This serves multiple purposes.
- Security - We need to be able to tie back folks to their membership.
- Organizer recognition – The organizers need to be able to identify folks at events (And yes, we have had crashers)
- Member recognition – Members need to be able to identify the folks they have talked with.
- We take member safety as well as courtesy towards others seriously.

See all- Italian Dinner - BYOB, Great Food, Fun AtmosphereTony's Pizza & Pasta, Dallas, TX
Please sign up only if you are confident you will attend and will keep your RSVP updated. We have had a problem with events filling very fast and creating wait lists, only to have many late cancellations and no-shows. Folks on the wait list don't get enough notice to attend, and other folks don't sign up because of long wait lists.
Tony's is a favorite casual get-together and is a part of our rotation. The prices are crazy affordable given the quality and huge portion sizes. The portions are large enough that most people take home at least 1 more meal.
Tony's is rated in the top 20 pizzas in Dallas, but I typically get their Veal or the Calzone.
Remember that this is BYOB and they do not serve alcohol, however there is no uncorking fee. You can bring your own Liquor, wine or beer. They will furnish wine / drink glasses. Please tip the servers extra as they do extra work of providing glasses and clearing off the glasses.
(Go to the back of the restaurant through the hall on the left of the cash register)
Tony's is a really great, one of a kind "hole in the wall" family owned and operated Italian restaurant. This place is a White Rock Lake local favorite.
Dinner will be 8 to 13 Dollars (From Pizza to Veal), I like the Veal Parmesan, Lasagna and Calzones, but the pizza is great as well.

There is a large back area where we will meet. (Down the hall all the way), I can't repeat this enough as some folks get lost.
A blurb from their website:
"Tony's Pizza and Pasta is a family-owned restaurant serving the Lake Highlands area for over 20 years. Always using the freshest ingredients, and at a price which is family affordable, you can count on Tony's to serve all of your Italian dining needs. Additionally, you are also welcome to bring your own bottle of beer or wine to enjoy with your dinner."
- 4.8 rated Thai Restaurant. (BYOB)Thai's Thumbz, Dallas, TX
"Thai s Thumbz" is 4.8 on Google and yelp and located in Far North Dallas. This will be our first event there. This restaurant is moderately priced. Check out their menu: Menus Link
As in the event title, this is a BYOB restaurant, so feel free to bring your favorite beer, wine, etc.
Please be sure before you sign up and keep your RSVP updated. There will likely be a waiting list and there are only seats for 12 people.
This event will close for new participants the day before the event.
Contact me to add a +1 and promise you will not do a late cancel or no-show and I will add your guest(s). Please do not bring guests without clearing it as this is limited seating event
Outdoor Adventure rules are in effect.
Please:- be courteous and kind to other participants.
- Respect cultural differences.
- Avoid bringing up topics that are likely to cause arguments in a group setting.
This will NOT be a family style event. But you can feel free to order and pay for whatever you choose and share if you wish to. This is a BYOB establishment, so feel free to bring your favorite libation. I will be there a few minutes early to welcome everyone...
Note: When restaurants have large groups, it impacts their ability to provide speedy service. Please be prepared to wait for your food and try to stay chill about it.
