About this talk:

Imagine: you have found a great value proposition, a perfect market fit for your offering (product or service). You have raised funds and investors have started investing. You have great business plans for the future and therefore you need to grow your company. Everything feels great! But, some years later you realised that you have built a complex organisation, which you can hardly handle. Costs have started exceeding the revenue. The company became slow, it lost its business agility and you can’t deliver on plans. What happened?

In my talk, I will analyse some important aspects concerning growth in general, both from the generic growth and the Merge and Acquisition (M&A) perspectives. There are some common mistakes, which many companies often repeat. Fortunately these mistakes are possible to avoid, if you are aware of them and if you have accounted for them in advance.

I’ll focus on the following areas which are the most critical, from my perspective, to succeed with the right growth:

• Organisational Structure: How to build not only a scalable organisation but also a delivery organisation which does not get too slow and complex to lead and handle?
• Business Development and Innovation Management: How to find the right balance between growing your core value proposition and innovation initiatives, aligning everything to the market situation?
• Business Leadership: Which leadership styles are needed to grow and develop people, organisation and business?
• Technical Strategy: What are the key factors critical for the right decision making in your Tech Strategy?
