Introduction to Nosework - Preston, WA

Details

Do you want to learn more enrichment exercises you can do at home? Have you ever wondered about nosework (scenting)? Come to the park and get started with the first steps.

IMPORTANT: ONLY ONE DOG PER PERSON (HANDLER) ALLOWED. IF YOU WANT TO BRING TWO DOGS, YOU MUST BRING A SECOND PERSON (14+) WITH YOU. TWO DOGS PER GROUP MAX.

During this class, you will learn how to teach your dog a new scented, how to teach them to discern between an empty container and the one with scent in it. If your dog is ready to advance to the next level, we will progress to teaching your dog to find the scent in a box and or out in nature.

Dachshunds were literally bred for nosework! They have the keenest noses in the land! Ha, ha.

We'll meet at the Preston Mill Park in Preston, WA (west of North Bend). There is a descent sized parking lot and restrooms. There are picnic tables to sit on, but come prepared to stand or bring your own camp chair just in case they are already occupied.

*I will supply scenting supplies for you to take home and practice*

This class is very limited since it's my first time teaching it and I want to make sure to give everyone plenty of one-on-one instruction.
