Join us as we head to the Lake district for a long weekend in the hills and lakes.

4 day/ 3 night adventure

Maximum 12 people - 1 Spaces Left!
Closing date to join this trip is 11th June.

Arrive Friday afternoon leave Monday late afternoon.

Friday

We will arrive at the accommodation @ 2pm where we will check in,

@ 3pm We will head out for a walk to to "Scales Tarn" - a small lake that sits under "Sharp Edge"
Wild swimming is permitted here so if you bring your costume you are welcome to jump in for a swim.

Distance: 3.5 miles / 5.6 km
Time: 2 hours walking
Ascent: 388 meters
Grade: Hill Walk

Dinner will be in the local Pub.

Saturday

We head off early to start our ascent to the summit of Helvellyn.
Helvellyn is a mountain between the lakes of Thirlmere and Ullswater. Elevation 950 m

Starting from Thirlmere we will go up to the summit via the Helvellyn Gill path and follow a circular route continue over Nethermost Pike and Dollywaggon, down Raise beck to Dunmail Raise and follow the permissive path back to the start.

Distance: 9 miles/ 14.4km
Time: 5-6 hours walking plus breaks
Ascent: 950 meters
Grade: Mountain Walk

Once we have descended we will head back to the accommodation.

Evening Dinner and Socialising in local town*

Sunday

After a well earned sleep we will head to one of the Lakes - Derwent water for paddle boarding**. (no experience required) we will spend a couple hours on the lakes enjoying the scenery and exploring.

We will also have some time to explore the amazing landscape
around Derwent water.

Monday

Check out and head out for a last day hike. Depending on weather we will look to do another peak or a gentler walk near the water.

We will aim to finish the walk by 2pm allowing time for every ones onward journey.

Accommodation

We will be staying in a mountain side Bunkhouse, which are converted stables. (4 per room) They are very basic rooms with bunkbeds with a shared bathroom which is outside of the property (Think Glamping) There is also communal kitchen* and Pub* on site.

The bunkhouse is at the base of Blencathra peak.

Cost: £280 P/P

Cost includes:
3 nights accommodation
3 Walks with qualified guide
Paddle boarding
Qualified outdoor first aider
Organiser on hand and all the planning taken care of.

Just of A66 Penrith to Keswick. 4 Miles from Keswick
CA12 4SY

By Train
From Penrith Train Station 15 mins by Taxi OR X5 or X4 bus from Penrith to Keswick and ask for scales. Bus stops outside of Pub.

You will need your own transportation to and from the activities.

Full kit list and welcome pack will be provided.

Weather:
We love the sun but if it is having a day off please be aware activities will still go ahead in the rain. Alternate hiking routes will be made if the weather is not suitable to summit any peaks.

Hiking - This is a medium/ hard level hiking with steep inclines. You must be physical fit & well. You are responsible for your own health & safety and must be well enough to hike for 6-7 hours.
Paddle boarding - No experience needed. Buoyancy aids provided.

*depending on latest government guidelines this may not be available.
** this will be dependent on bookings and availability (cannot book yet as vendors are not open) alternative activity will be offered if not available.
