Myth 3: We need to raise the daily income of people in tribal areas. They make be receiving their wealth from non-monetary systems

Myth 4: Money is bad, causes anxiety, hardship & polarization. We realize that money could become the planet's savior

Myth 5: Triple-bottom line businesses will save our economy. The reality is, until we change our ideas about money, triple-bottom line businesses can't compete effectively

Myth 6: There is a conspiracy of illuminati seeking to capture wealth. Rather, there are systemic factors and idea systems that allow wealth to concentrate in a few

Idea: We are strip-mining the commons. Resources, intellectual property, community are being exploited and converted into money

Idea: Like wealth, enlightenment is a goal that has no limits - and, in both cases, the pursuit of it can enslave us

Hey Everyone,

If you have not looked at the ideas in Sacred Economics and are interested in how our economy is running out of steam, this is a must read book. He takes a hard-nosed but practical approach to recognizing the myths we've adopted about ourselves and what value really is. Rather than railing against money, Eisenstein advocates cultivating a new, sacred relationship with money - and our economy. Charles will be at Swarthmore on May 26 for a full day workshop.

Join this acclaimed author-teacher in a day-long gathering aimed to revolutionize your effectiveness as a leader, healer, and/or social activist in times of rapid change. Our society is entering a time of profound transition. Crises in the economy, the ecosystem, health, education, water, energy, and more are propelling our civilization toward a radically different way of living on planet earth. Such conditions call for a new kind of leader, and even a whole new paradigm of leadership. At stake are the deep questions: “Who are we?” What are we here to create?” “What is the role of humanity on earth, and how may I contribute to it?”

In this gathering we will explore, in concept and in practice: Our unique historical moment; from separation to connection; The dynamics of transition (personal, organization, planetary); Envisioning together “a more beautiful world our hearts tell us is possible;” Leadership independent of power structures and hierarchies; What does leadership mean in a non-hierarchical setting?; The necessity for miracles, and how to access them; How to accomplish what seems impossible; Rebuilding community and meaningful relationships through living in “the gift.”
