The Irish In Connecticut

Details

The Irish in Connecticut: A three-century overview of life for the Irish from the 1640s to the present.

The Band of Steady Habits, a group of six local musicians, combine their musical talent with their interest in the past to teach history through music and song. Join them to enjoy a musical history of the Irish in Connecticut. The concert will employ the full range of Irish music, rousing and mournful, joyful and somber to describe the joys, sorrows, challenges and successes that this energetic community of Nutmeggers has experienced and achieved since their arrival in 1640. After a long and cold winter, you just might want to sing along!

Vernon Historical Society is grateful to the Vernon Arts Commission for its generous grant enabling us to offer this unique historical presentation.

The program is free and open to the public. Snow date Sunday, March 10.
