First CC Meeting to meet members, learn about Vision, vote on decisions, & more

Here on Meet-up we are setting up the awesome opportunity to have In-person meetings for anyone in the Twin City Area! Everyone is welcome, there are only 2 requirements: You must be an adult, and you must be respectful.

This first meeting will be a casual event to meet other members and talk about future meetings, our Vision, and membership opportunities and resources! If you are sure you are coming, please let us know via email at : creativecanvas.hope@gmail.com

Anyone is welcome to join whether you are just checking it out or if you would like to jump in and be a part of this fun, supportive, creative, and all together amazing organization!

What is Creative Canvas of Hope? Creative Canvas has an online aspect for anyone around the world to join. It is a new organization that has been put together by a group of individuals with a Passion for Supporting others, Healing, and Helping others live Happy and Healthy Lifestyles. We also wish to provide resources for Survivors of all kinds, provide educational opportunities for our communities to learn about Trauma, Child Abuse, Mental Health and other issues that Impact adults.

On the Creative Canvas website anyone around the world is able to apply for membership. The application form is our way of keeping the organization as safe as we can. There are some basic questions so our Board of Directors can get to know you. We will explain more about this at the meeting.

Creative Canvas members will work together for a variety of activities and purposes including the Forums, Webinars, Chat Discussions, Workbook Studies, workshops, and more. We will also form a Publication with Member poetry, stories, drawings, painting, and other creative aspects, as well as information about Living a Healthy Lifestyle, Healing your mind and body, and some experts advice on various topics.

There will be different committees that members can choose to be a part of to help us accomplish goals such as: the Publication, Fundraising, Moderating, ect.

Some of the aspects we will include are learning skills, fun chat times, discussions online and in-person, group activities , webinars, professional and expert speakers, online workbook studies, crafts, and trips to explore the community.

What will we do at the Meetings?

The possibilities are endless! We really want members to have a say in what they would like to focus on, what they are interested in, and what we will accomplish. If you are interested- please visit our site and fill out the membership form. We will have a specific forum area for people who will attend these In-Person Meetings and we encourage you to write any ideas and input you have. You may also send me an personal message on the site, an email, and we will have a suggestion box at this first meeting!

We will have two types of meetings each month. The first will be the "Creative" Meeting- this will be the meeting that could include creative projects, group activities, community activities, and will be working on the creation and putting together the publication. The second will be the "Workshop" group- which could include going through a workbook or book about Healthy Lifestyles, Healing, or a specific subject. We could have professionals in the community speak about nutrition, PTSD, dissociation, ect. We could have discussion groups about topics, ect. We will incorporate Mindfulness, DBT skills, Nutrition, Positivity, and researched, helpful methods to help members Thrive, heal, and accomplish goals.

How do I join? If you would like to participate as a member first RSVP here and fill out the questions. Then visit our website and bookmark; At first you will not see much because our visitor part of the site is still being constructed. Click to Register for Forumotion, which is the platform. You will need to confirm your email with the link sent to you. Then, sign in and click on the Membership form in the menu bar (or click on the link below). Fill out the form and click submit. You will receive a message within 48 hours and then have access to the forums and other features.

What will this first Meeting be Like?

You will learn more about our Vision and the goals we want to accomplish. You be able to vote on some important Decisions, Sign up for Committees, and Get to know each other. We want Members to be involved in making decisions!

Information about Donations:

As a non-profit, we rely on donations from members and supporters. We ask members to donate $5 a meeting to cover the many costs for materials, snacks, all the features on the website, required state paperwork, the cost for the publication, webinar costs, to eventually have our own meetings place and so much more that we want to include as Resources. We will take cash and credit, or you can donate through Paypal with the colorful Donate link on our website. http://creativecanvas.forumotion.org

The suggested donation for Membership to the forums and resources is $50 yearly. We understand some are unable to donate and hope those who are able will donate more to cover people who cannot afford it. Don't worry, we do not pressure our members for money. We will also work on fundraising to cover the extra costs. The best way to donate is by pressing the button on our website that will direct you to PayPal. Paypal is a free service you can use to pay with your bank account or credit card.
