What would the world feel like if you experienced it as a dog, a cat, or another animal?
In this beginner-friendly AI art workshop, you’ll step outside the human point of view, imagine how another creature senses and understands reality, and turn that perspective into an explorable AI-generated 3D world.
You’ll be guided by Peter J. Koltai, Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and a practicing artist, who will share an artist’s perspective on perception, space, movement, and point of view.
An AI researcher will introduce the idea of world models and spatial intelligence in a beginner-friendly way, then guide you in using AI to bring your group’s imagined world to life.
What to expect:

• Explore how animals may experience the same world differently
• Learn the basic idea behind world models in a simple, accessible way
• Hear an artist’s perspective on perception, space, scale, and point of view
• Work in a small group to imagine a world from an animal’s perspective
• Create an explorable AI-generated 3D world
• Take a World Tour through the different realities created in the room
• Meet people from tech, art, design, research, and other backgrounds

The goal isn’t to build the most technically impressive world or write the perfect prompt.
It’s to step outside your usual point of view, notice what another mind might notice, and use AI as a medium for perspective, imagination, and creative exploration.
Who is this for?
Artists, engineers, researchers, designers, pet lovers, photographers, writers, makers, and anyone curious about AI, creativity, animals, perception, and human experience.
No AI, art, or technical background is required. You do not need to own a pet.
What to bring:
A phone is all you need.
If you have a laptop, feel free to bring it. We’ll create in small groups, and having a larger screen can make it easier to build and explore the world together.
Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
