Update 5/25/2018

Parking is now available under the freeway. Entrance through S Hope st or S Flower st. From there you can walk to the entrance of Navel, see image in the link below:

https://thumb.ibb.co/bL0yao/navel_parking.png (https://ibb.co/bL0yao)

Parking should be $3-5 for the whole day. Either hand Paul who is working there a couple of bucks, or, if you don't have cash, just let him know you're attending the event and I will cover the cost for everyone who hasn't payed at the end of the day. Turns out there's no such thing as free parking (but we're still serving free lunch)!

Update 5/24/2018

I'm happy to announce three more speakers that will be giving lightning talks:

Saturday:

Chris Bisignani (Google): Category Theory and Graphical Injections: A vision of Advanced Knowledge Representation

Sunday:

Ryan Reich (Consensys): Strongly typed contract storage
Ted Blackman (Urbit): Urbit architecture overview

Update 5/4/2018

The program is now hosted here: https://coday.today/ . Look there for the most up to date information, including abstracts for the talks.

We're excited to have Nathan Faubion present on the Saturday as well.

If you are interested in giving a lightning talk, please reach out!

Introduction

The purpose of this gathering is to explore common perspectives of category theory within functional programming frameworks and applications.

Important to know

Parking will be available. Lunch will be offered to participants for free. Registration required. Seats are limited. Please only RVSP if you are certain you can make it.

Program

The idea is to start each day with a longer talk that sets the theme for the day. The afternoon then allows general open hacking sessions on that theme, occasionally interrupted by a 15-20min lightning talk. If possible, we’d end each day with brief presentations / discussions about the work done.

Saturday May 26th

10am-11am: The Future is Comonadic! (Phil Freeman)
11am-12pm: Functions, Type classes, & Interpreters (Nate Faubion)
12pm-1pm: Lunch
1pm-4pm: Open Session
4pm-5pm: Demonstrations

Sunday May 27th

10am-12pm: Haskell/PureScript + web3 (Martin Allen & Kristoffer Josefsson)
12pm-1pm: Lunch
1pm-4pm: Open Session
4pm-5pm: Demonstrations
