Details

Meet at 10:45am at the Downtown Marina dock, at the foot of the Sails sculpture, and walk up the ramp, and through the archway to the very farthest OUTSIDE public dock, facing the west side. We will be departing at 11:00am sharp. You need to give yourself plenty of time to get there because many people last year could not find the departure point. We will be back at the dock somewhere "around" 3:30pm.

A minimum of six people need to sign up for it, excluding me. Otherwise it will be cancelled and you can either book another date or ask for a refund, whichever you prefer.

We will cruise to the Okanagan Lake resort and tie up at the dock and have lunch at the Tiki Hut. It takes about an hour and a half of cruising each way. They have a food truck with tacos, nachos, quesadillas and other items. They also have a bar where you can order drinks. There is a beach right next door where we can go for a swim after lunch. So wear your swimsuit if you want to go for a dip and bring yourself a towel. (Everyone is responsible for their own lunch).

Please bring as small of a bag as possible, there is no room for 10 large bags on the boat. Sorry, but any large bags will have to be left on the dock.
Bring your drinks in a thermos, no alcoholic containers allowed.

Everyone needs to pay for the cruise as soon as you sign up for it, if you don't pay for it, your name will be removed. Payment must be made by e-transfer to kelownaoutdooractivities@shaw.ca. Security question: boat? Answer: pontoon. Please help me out by indicating which date you are booking for, so I don't have to search all the cruises to find your name and mark you as paid.

It is your responsibility to find the group. PLEASE DON’T BE LATE! Do not call and ask us to wait for you, you will be holding up everyone else and it causes a lot of problems. If you are late, you will forfeit your ticket. Plan to leave early and get there on time!

Best place to park is the library parkade, it is free on weekends.I would suggest downloading the app "Pay by Phone", then you can add another hour onto your time if we all decide to stay out later.
Sorry, no transfers or refunds allowed, unless it is cancelled due to weather. If heavy rain or strong winds are forecast, it will be cancelled, and you can choose another date or ask for a refund. I will also post it on the site by 9am if it is cancelled, so make sure you check the website before you head out. If you have to cancel shortly before departure date, you can post a message on the event page and say you are unable to make the cruise and would somebody like to buy your ticket. You are allowed to sell your ticket to another member.
When you book a cruise, you are taking a chance on the weather, you cannot expect it to be perfect so if there are only possible rain showers predicted, it may go ahead. The pontoon has a triple bimini, so there is cover over the entire boat (from rain or sun).
I will be your Captain and look forward to a wonderful afternoon on our beautiful lake with you!
