Sex and Security! The practicalities . . .

Details
Heard all about mass privacy invasion on the web but no idea what to do about it? Following the scandal of people's home surveillance video's ending up on hackers' sites (http://is.gd/O6LbqG), now our sex toys (http://is.gd/uth9YY), TVs (http://is.gd/D8espP), smartphones, cams and mics are networked and our lives tracked, how exposed are we as women/queers? How is it affecting our lives and identities?
We're collaborating with Furtherfield Commons and Autonomous Tech Fetish (ATF) for this first in a series of free workshops aimed at giving you a clearer idea of who's tracking you and how with graphical demos, risk assessment, and some simple skills and apps to protect your online privacy better. Beginners welcome, women/LGBTQ welcome - we are diverse facilitators and no question is too stupid!
• Interactive demos
• Introduction to Crypto, Security Certificates and 2-Factor Authentication (with Ellie McHugh)
• Privacy tools for smartphones
• Enigmail, VPN, browser privacy, Dark Net
• Women and digital privacy design workshop
Bring a laptop and a blank USB stick at least 4GB to get the best out of the workshops.
