Parlons Français à Carmel

Books & Brews Carmel

French language immersion experience for Carmel clay schools and surroundings. Let's Speak French (Parlons Français)! This is your opportunity as a student of French, to practice what you learn in the classroom. Join French teachers and native French speakers for casual but well designed conversations, with the objective to improve your French grammar and vocabulary. As a student or teacher of French, take this weekly opportunity to connect and share with other students and teachers of French in the Carmel-Fishers-Noblesville-Westfield-Zionsville area. Though the emphasis is to help our young students of French, these meetings are opened to all ages and all levels of French. Notes: - The venue is family friendly. Children and those under the age of 18 are welcomed. - Free parking.

The French Social Night!

Location visible to members

No agenda - everything is casual and informal! Join us for a few hours for fun conversing and interacting with fun people. We’re usually at Cornerstone from 7:30 PM until 11:00 PM. Leave early…arrive late…no problem. Relax, talk, laugh, and make new friends while speaking French. That’s what we are all about! No matter your level of French, from beginner to native speaker, join us for that French language immersion experience that you’ve been looking for! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evening of each month. Notes: Because this Meetup location shares a common building with a bar and grill, Indianapolis ordinance will not allow anyone in the restaurant who is under 18 years of age. We are sorry about the inconvenience. We always look forward to your suggestions about alternative Meetup locations. Cornerstone Coffee House is a non-smoking establishment.

Parlons Français à Carmel - George Sand's "la mare au diable"

Last week we studied a piece from the Barzaz Breiz. The book's greatest acclaim came from French novelist George Sand, herself a romantic with great love for folk traditions. This week we will study a passage from her most famous book, "la mare au diable", which depicts rural life in Berry - the region whence yours truly issues, as well as one of the members of the group's ancestry! Notes: - The venue is family friendly. Children and those under the age of 18 are welcomed. - Free parking.
